ESLII Journal 14: Slang

    Form today's society, people are always busing and don’t have much times doing other things. Also people be more creative by making the new words. Those of words can’t be find in the dictionary, it’s the words that very special and become very useful for people. Because the slang become more and more popular now, sometimes people can’t distinguish the difference between slang and common words. Like the word “Coffee Shop Productivity” it’s mean that people do the work outside their home or officer can do it faster  or more efficient, so they usually went to coffee shop to finish their things. “I usually rely the coffee shop productivity when I got a lot of things to do. It help me to focus on the works, and won’t be distraction on other things.” It mean when I do my works in the coffee shop, it can make me focus on all of my works and won’t doing somethings else before it.

    Slang are popular and common now, not only because they are funny, also because it can express the meaning in the concrete and easy to associate. Slang are useful and even more close to our daily life, had you discovered that you had used the slang without knowing?

ESLII Journal 13: My Style

Every one have their different ways to act themselves in their own life. It show the special from the other, and create the own way form acting yourselves. It’s my style.

I dress black, white, dark green or any other dark color oftenly. I talk very quietly, sometimes is funny and with the strange tune. I can’t endure the orderless computer desktop, so I always put the files in the folder. But most of time my room was a moil, until I can’t endure or step on something. And I like to trance or thinking somethings in the funny ways, it can make my mood become happier. Although sometimes trance is not good at all. For the principle, I don’t like to do the work in the last munite, because I like to do the things on the slow and gentle ways, also it can make the thing’s quality better. And I thing the most element in my style is the lazy and suger, according to my mom’s testimony science I was little I always sleep until lunch time on the weekend, and when I wake up it’s the brunch time. And I like the sweet things very much, for the bad habit I often add too much suger in my drink or eat to much sweet foods. But I just can’t get id of this habit.

ESLII Journal 9: Introduction to Me

I am Peggy Hsieh. I’m a grade eight student now, although I am fifteen years old. I have a black elegant eyes with single - edged eyelid. Sometimes I think it is the reason for why somebody think I look like a japaness. Also I had the black hair and the bangs, most of things are similar to other. But the more special things is my voice. I always speak wisher and my voice pitch is higher then other, so some times when I’m talking on the phone with the people who don’t know me. They will speak like talking to a kindergarten child. For my family, I have my parent, an older brother and a little dog! My parent are both very kind, but they came be crazy and funny sometime. They never manage if I have do the homework or prepare for the test science I am in the second grade. The reason from my mom is she think I can do it by myself, so she spend her psyche on urge my brother. Like I had said before, my brother is a little bit playful. When we were both children, we fight with each  very often. Of course I lost and cried all of times. Now we grew up and he is study abroad. We seldom met each other, but it made him be more like the brother. For the newest one in my family is my little dogs, with this white cute things, it had bring a lot of trouble, but it also bring us a lot of mirth.

I'm satisfy with my life now, for all of people I met, wish you can have the life full with happiness.

ESLII Journal 8 My Conflict

 Last year, when the typhoon came went though Taiwan. The heavy rain made the river beside my house over brim. It’s also because the government didn’t built a river embankment well. When the rainfall made the river very strong, the river embankment failure. The river ran in our community, the people who lived in the front of  community got the most of trouble just like my family. Almost all of the people’s car got soaked in the water, the scene of many tow truck   to assemble to pass in and out is very spectacular. Although that day my family didn’t live in that house so our cars didn’t soaked in water. But the house got drenched with water. The flowers outside all got drowning. The things in frist floor completely annihilated. With the black sand and soil mix with water. Only for sprinkle the water out, eight people used almost the half of day. When we finally clear most of sank, it’s already afternoon. This time we not only spent lots of human resources, we also lost a refrigerator, a wii, some of wood made furniture, a vacuum cleaner, the food in the refrigerator...etc. The condition or effect of a disaster can’t be finish in only one day, so in the second day, we continue our recondition work. We can resist the power of the nature, but we can ask the government to compensate  that come into our's own.

ESLII Journal 7 Three Pigs

After the event of the “Three Pigs” The wolf also had three little wolves. One day, three little need to live by themselves, so they live their family. The first thing they do is make their house, the oldest wolf is very lazy. It build his cave with the dry grass, it thought it’s enough to be the house. The second wolf want to make the better house than his brother, so it build it’s cave by the wood. And the youngest wolf also don’t want to make the cave same as other. So it build the house with the tile, it’s harder than dry grass and wood. But few days after, there are the big pig will the iron rake came to knock the oldest wolf’s door. But the wolf was sleeping, so the pig used it’s rake broken the cave. It made the wolf woke up and stranded to run, because the pig won’t be it’s friend. He run to his second brother’s cave and hide in, few minutes later, the big pig came to the wood cave. He knock the door again, but two little wolves were too afried to open, so the pid used the rakes hited the wood cave again. The cave broken, two wolves ran as fast as they can to their youngest brother’s cave and hide in. When the pig came in front of the tile cave. It straight hit the tile door. The tile isn’t strong enough to stop the iron. So the cave broke, three little wolves withdraw on the conner, the big pig shout very loudly said who had bullied his relative. Just when the pig want to use it’s rake to hit the wolves, the long corncob hit on the pig’s head. And a monkey appeared it angrily condemned the big pig about why it without permission from the team and mike. The fierce monkey drag the big pig away and didn’t gave the wolves and sight. But after this misfortune, three little wolves learn to made their house more strongly.

ESLII Journal 6 Analogy

When I need to maka the speech. It just like I went outside in the cold winter morning. It made me freezing and don’t want to go out, even for just move only one step. And my head just like the stone, become very heavy, stiff and can’t think anything. It will become blank space in my head and mind. Also the step I walk just like the old robot, very strange and inflexible. I can just move as slowly as the turtle. The words I said, were like the broken clock, sound very weird. The sentence sounds weird,too. Because it doesn’t sound like it’s the sentence. And the people who were under the stage, their sight were like the fox saw its prey, full of cruel and sharp.  It mad e me want to be like the marmot, dig the hole under ground and hide in to it. However after the speech was finish, my body just felt like the feathers, very light and lissom. My rock head will disintegrate and disappear. MY robot step will change back to the usual look. The broken clock will be repair entirely. Finally, I can leave the cold winter morning, went inside the warm room and had the lovely gentle rest. 

ESLII Journal 5 Frighting Words

Few years ago, I met the fight. But it’s not the fight with my fist, it’s the fight with my speech. My brother borrowed the motorcycle from my aunt’s friend. And then just about a month after, he went to other place to study. All of my family were busy on the time. So no ones had remember it. Although my aunt’s friend didn’t say when my brother need to turn it back. After my brother leave, my aunt’s friend started the demanded to return. But in that time, my parent went with my brother for several weeks. So I went back home helped him to find the key for abut two hours, but the key were brought with my brother’s bag. The friend of my aunt started to condemn my brother in front of me, also condemn my parents, said that they did’t teach my brother well.  From the very first, I though it’s really my brother’s faults, so I didn’t said any words. But when he started to condemn my parents. My patient were reached the limit. My facial expression become stiff, my fluent full with rage. Because he is the elder, I can’t be impolite to him, so I depress my rage until I can’t endure and than leave the room. In my mind, not only my parent, my brother is also my family. Although he didn’t responsible for the thing. Stranger can’t do or say the things bad in front of me. They don’t have the authority at all.

ESLII Journal 4 OOPS!

I have a friend who is very pretty. Although she is older than me, but I always think she is a cute girl. One day she went to Japan for the family travel. Because they went by themselves, so don’t have the tourist guide to help them for finding the right way. They just like three strangers, two girls and a woman standing by the street and seriously looking at the map for fifty minutes. Suddenly, there was a police riding his bike cross them. When my friend just saw him, she fleetingly chase after the police and graphed him down the bike. And plugged the map into his hand, started to ask the right way by english. Her mother still stranded on the original place after her little daughter came back. She was very surprised for her daughter’s behavior. So her mouth didn’t close for a long time. If I was there when my friend asked the way, I will be very surprised, too. After all, in my mind she is pretty, cute and has good temperature. But the thing she made in Japan was very brave and manliness. It completed broke the impressions that I usually had, and change to the girl who is very pretty and brave.

ESLII Journal 3 Below the Surface

Some people like to look vicious, but maybe they were pretty kind people. And some of people look good and honest, but they were the vile people. We can’t know the real part they had. Although some times we can still judged their real surface on the detail. But most of time we can’t judge the real personality from others. The judge that we made mostly is by our first impression. It may full of ours point of view, can’t be objective to the people. So when I pre-judge the unknown people, the only thing I can guess is their personality of their wearing. It can’t represent to the whole personality. It cause I been surprised when I found the new face of them. Because you had never think that this people were had this kind of behavior or said some words that were very different than your point of view. But it also made me happy and though that I finally find out the real they. It mains that they won’t think I am the outlander and show their reliance to me. So we can’t used the first impression to represent someone, it will be impolite when you put on your personal point of view on others.
